Outline?

Is there any advice you can give on outlining for NaNoWriMo? I've got a fairly basic storyline, but not sure what order to put stuff in.

Thanks!

I don't outline for stories usually but in college I did take an extensive class on outlining fiction. :P Here's my advice from that experience:

Write down your story idea with bullet points, getting from Point A to Point C:

A. What you have in mind for the beginning.
B. What you have in mind for the middle.
C. What you have in mind for the ending.

Even if it's totally nondescript and seems vague. At least you'll have your main ideas on paper.

Then, from those, you can hash out the details. It helps, I think, to have everything in front of you, instead of detailing Point A and
trying to make it turn into Point B, and so on. Does that make sense?

You could try dividing the plot up into subsections, and just figure out what you need to include before you get to "the bit where..."

Or maybe you could name chapters and try to get a few ideas under each title? I find overplanning is just as likely to end up in me quitting as underplanning

Anyway good luck with nanowrimo xxx I'm doing it for the first time and am scared!
